Trials are Dungeons on steroids. Some include an extra Boss not found in its Dungeon counterpart. You can enter Trials from Aven where you find the Arena NPCs. What's the hype about Trials? Simply put, its drops - Yellow Weapons/Rings/Necklaces, Trophies and more.
Requirements Player must be Level 50 to begin Trials, then the required level for more advanced Trials
Must have completed the Main Line Quests along with the Dungeon Quest in order to enter the said Trial
Some Trials require you to turn the Party to Raid (Party Leader can do so by right clicking their Icon)
Must be in a Party of at least 2 to enter Trial (The other player doesn't have to enter if you want to solo)
Etiquette A few things to remember is that everyone plays a little differently, finding out how people play and handle Trials is very important from the beginning. If you're the Leader of the Party, you call the shots. Some people like to make Lists of Calls, so they'll know who called what item and what to Need or Greed. Communicate with your Party to avoid problems along the road. Some players attempt to level their classes during Trial parties. This can often aggravate some party members, since they have to make up for what you're lacking (Low lvl atks/heals/squishy tanking). Ask before you try to level a class. For most, 5-10 Class level difference from your Character is okay. It may not be okay to use a Lvl20 Cleric at a Lvl60 Trial. Again, ask your party if you can use a low level Class during the mob kills, and switch to a more adequate Class for the Bosses.
A NinjaYou may have seen a few players calling others a Ninja and telling World not to party them for Trials. What is a Ninja? A Ninja is a player who Needs items they have not called for, usually hard to get Trophies, Rings or Weapons. Being labeled as a Ninja will ruin your reputation with your Peer and may follow you as you level, making it very difficult to find parties outside of Guild. Remember, a single item is not worth not being able to find a party in the future.
Note: Rolling "Need" on mats, blue/green items, even BluePrints without calling them, is still considered ninja'ing. Trials – The MasoKiss WayWhen we run Guild Trial Runs we call per Boss, giving you a higher chance at a drop per Run. If you don't want an item from a Boss, you can either say “Pass” or you can call an item you would like to have for your Archive Collection – like Trophies. If two people want the same item, you have 2 choices either you both roll Need for the item OR the one who wants the item for their main class can call it and the other picks another item. If you get a drop, let others call items first so they will have a chance to get a drop as well. If no one calls an item and it drops everyone can roll Greed. If someone calls an item and the BP drops but not the item itself, ask them if they would like to Need that item's BP, if not roll Greed.
Tips If you feel that your character is not "good enough" for Trials due to lack of gear, play it smart. Go as an Illusionist. People love Illu's as Mana Slaves. You won't be tanking, in the middle of the action, or expected to do some heavy damage. Just keep their Mana full, increase their cast speed, sleep mobs when needed, and atk/break. Beware, Illu's tend to be squishy, so avoid AOEs and use HP pots generously if need be.
